Maybe someone have already noticed that since last night there is a new section of my site that you can find in the top menu. This is a tumblelog, a notebook with quotes, notes, pictures, video. The original account is this one, but I decided to embed it so that you can browse it without leaving this website.
According to Wikipedia,

A tumblelog is a variation of a blog that favors short-form, mixed-media posts over the longer editorial posts frequently associated with blogging. Common post formats found on tumblelogs include links, photos, quotes, dialogues, and video. Unlike blogs, tumblelogs are frequently used to share the author’s creations, discoveries, or experiences while providing little or no commentary.

In my case, I will insert quotes from books I read or from movies I watch or video and images that in some way leave  a sign in me… To manage it, I use the most popular service for tumblelog, Tumblr. If this post has intrigued you, create one tumblelog and notify it in comments!

Yes, my dashboard is saying to have 99 comments since when i began this new blog: who wants to leave the hundredth? You will not win anything but… the glory! (?!)

Update: The 100th comment is by Disgrafia… But don’t stop to comment on the blog!

The most expert people have already noticed it: this blog is based on WordPress platform. It is one of the CMS (Content Management System – a tool that helps you to build websites) most used in the world and certainly I am not the first to use it among people you know.

Since there is nothing as gratifying as comments for a blogger, I am also happy to see my posts full of your impressions. In these cases, however, you have to distinguish yourself from other people: to do that avatars where made together with the Web. The greatest problem is that every website needs an avatar and so we are forced to load the same image in thousands of different sites.
To avoid this there is one method: Gravatar.com. What is it? I quote from the Italian website:

A Gravatar or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an image that follows you site by site and appears next to your name when making a transaction. Avatars help identify your comments on blogs and forums on the web, then why not on every site?

In a nutshell, once uploaded your avatar, you can comment on my blog, on all blogs based on Wordpress and on many other services and the image that you have chosen will appear.

I believe that there is nothing more difficult  than to write the first post for people who open a new blog.

This is the first post of this blog: a new blog, more “professional” than the one used until yesterday, certainly with a more polished appearance. Probably, or at least those are the intentions, will be more polished in the contents.

Since this is a personal site, in these days, I managed the implementation of the pages “About me“, “Projects” and “Journeys“. There is still work to be done but I am sure that if I continue to wait for perfection, this blog will never be opened.

The biggest news, which probably few of my older readers will appreciate, is that I decided to write in English: every article will be published in two versions and you can choose what version to read by clicking on the flag you can find in the sidebar on the right. The reason is the desire to train it, because next year I may have to write my thesis in English. Therefore, I apologize to English speakers: my English is not perfect and surely you will find errors: I will be happy if you let me to know: I will correct them.

I conclude this first post giving the welcome to old and new readers, asking you to give me tips and what impressions you’ve received from this new site.
