Bio
My name is Daniele Zanni and I was born in Milan in 1985. Since then, I have lived in a small town close to a highway between the cities of Milan and Crema, surrounded by the countryside. Nowadays, I’m studing at the Politecnico di Milano, where I achieved in 2008 a Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering, after having accomplished a scientific Diploma with full marks at Liceo Scientifico Statale A. Einstein, my high school.
Computer and Internet
I cannot say I was born “with a keyboard“: I was given my first PC in 1997, a Penthium MMX 200 Mhz. Yet, I can say that since I received that gift, the world connected to that keyboard has always fascinated me. The biggest step towards the information technology, however, was in high school, where I started programming in Turbo Pascal. And I liked it. When I began to go at University, first practical projects came, by far preferred to some theoretical courses, like Digital Logic Design or Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer. In Projects page you can find some of them.
I started to surf the Net in 1999, with an old 56 kbps modem. Since then I have always followed the evolution of the Internet, trying to stay up to date, testing new services grown exponentially with the advent of Web 2.0. In the sidebar on the right you can find some of those at which I am registered. The nickname with which I began and I continue to register myself on the Web is Syymza. Do not ask me why, it is a little secret.
In 2008 I started to do some job as webmaster and webdesigner for some little company.
Passions
Pc, computers, new technologies and the Internet are part of my world and of my studies. But, fortunately, my passions are not limited to that. Among them, a very important role is covered by photography. Actually, it is also the most recent: my second hand Nikon D50 has only a few months and my compact camera has just 2 years. Yet, at this moment, it is the strongest one and I would like to publish in the Portfolio page the best photos when the come.
Music and movies are also two great passions. As regards the former, I have a couple of guitar (an electric Takamine and an acoustic Ibanez) and I played them in a group, The Arista. Nowadays I play guitar less and I listen more music, looking for lesser-known songs and groups, helped by some dedicated Internet services. Film and cinema are the major stopgaps in my lonely evenings. Here too, blockbusters are accompanied by more refined films.
Last but not least, I love to travel. When I imagine my ideal job, I think to something that allows me to travel, to move from place to place, to meet new cultures. This too is a passion that has only recently been developed: as a child I have not traveled much, but I hope to be able to have time for trips not made in the past.
